Some background information on Laruga:
Laruga Glaser
Authorized level 2 Teacher in the tradition of Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois
Since a young age Laruga has been fascinated with mind/body connections, as well as, spiritual philosophy that later attracted her to the practice of yoga over 16 years ago. It wasn’t until she stumbled upon Ashtanga Yoga when she fully immersed herself into intense daily practice for 13 of those years. She also brings with her the combined experience teaching body movement for 20 years, starting at the age of 15. Since then, she has continued to draw inspiration from her daily visit to the mat, along with long term studies with her teachers, the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and now his grandson R. Sharath Jois, of Mysore India, along with gaining insight from master level teachers such as Tim Miller, Rolf Naujokat, and Peter Sanson.
Laruga has been teaching since 2004, after many years of personal, sustained, practice, and is an Advanced level practitioner, as well as, a Level 2 Authorized Teacher from KPJAYI of Mysore, India. Laruga is dedicated to teaching the method of Ashtanga yoga to its fullest capacity, cultivating transparency to the tradition, and the deeply rich lineage the practice originates (Otherwise known as parampara).
As a teacher, Laruga brings with her a passion for the natural expansion yoga practice brings to light. With a sincere devotion to the development of her students, nurturing a space for growth and exploration, nothing brings her more gratification then observing the unfolding and transformation in the yoga practitioners she encounters. In supplementation to her extensive Ashtanga yoga study, she also has training and experience in the Classical Hatha, Anusara®, Vinyasa, and Yin yoga methods.
Laruga is also a Reiki Master, where she has become versed in the dynamics of our energetic field in regards to healing. She has been practicing and studying Reiki since 2005.
Originally from the United States, Columbus, Ohio, she moved to Sweden in November 2009.
