Note that this is not how I normally do my sun salutations. If I did, I'll be knackered by the time I reach Sun Salutation B! Anyway, just a little fun for the camera.

Random musings. Why cacat? Cacat is a Malay word for handicapped; and was my nickname in school because of my facial expressions when my fingers get into each other's way whilst playing carrom. I probably still have those expressions; but it's now 30 years on and adults are too diplomatic to call me cacat. What they think is another matter ....
Nice man...I've got the jump forward but come down a little faster and harder than you. It's still light, but yours is truly floating. What's the trick on the hovering of the feet?--the angle of the arms forward and the knees into the chest?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Craig. For me, my initial thought is getting the weight over my hands. Then I think of lifting and concaving the sternum. It's still a work in progress, but once the weight is forward enough, I can find a moment of balance. That's when I locked in the concaveness of the body and resist the hips from coming down. Does that make sense? Feel free to ask more if you need to - I'll do my best to help. I must add, though, I'm not a teacher and I'm just relaying my own experiences.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I went to your blog and really enjoyed your posts. Inspiring to read such dedication to the practice and how it has impacted your life off the mat.
Do you know where Craig's blog has gone?
ReplyDeleteMissing his daily posts - was a great motivation for me.
I too am in the dark. Seemed like his blog was deleted. Hope it is just temporary.
